Key Attributes
Header

Name : The internal tracking name or code for this specific BOM.

Item *: The final assembled product that this BOM will build.

Revision: The current version number to ensure the team is building with the latest specs.

Effective Start/End Date : Optional dates to set a timeframe for when this BOM is valid to use.
Component Lines when adding BOM (per row)

Item : The specific parts, raw materials, or sub-assemblies needed

Description : A short, helpful note explaining what the part is (optional).

Quantity : The precise amount of this part needed to build just one single unit of the final product.

UOM (Unit of Measure) : How the item is counted or measured (e.g., pieces, ounces, boxes).

Unit Cost : The individual price of one unit of this component.

Total Cost : Automatically calculated by multiplying the Quantity × Unit Cost.
BOM Rules (optional)

Condition : An "if/then" rule that decides when a part should be automatically added (e.g., if color = red).

Item : The specific component that gets selected automatically when the condition is met.

Description : An optional explanatory note about the rule.

Quantity : The amount needed, which can change dynamically using math formulas (e.g., 4+{count}).

UOM / Unit Cost : Same meaning as the standard components above.

Key Functions

Create a BOM : Manufacturing → BOM → New → enter Name , choose Item , set Effective Dates (optional), toggle Default if desired. Add Component Lines (Item, Quantity, UOM, Unit Cost).

Add Overheads : Capture labor/fees as Overheads lines for complete costing.

Use BOM Rules (optional): Add Condition rows that include components only when rules apply; set Quantity (supports expressions).
