SDI Dashboard
The SDI Dashboard is the entry point and mission control for Supply-Demand Intelligence. It summarizes your supply/demand position for the selected location and horizon, surfaces the most urgent shortages, and lets you resolve them or accept system suggestions without leaving the page.
For the bigger picture and how shortages are calculated, see Supply-Demand Intelligence (Overview).
Where to Access
- Manufacturing panel → Supply/Demand Intelligence (
/sdi/dashboard).
Controls
The header drives the entire view:
- Location — limit planning to one location, or All Locations.
- Horizon — how far ahead to look: 1 Week, 2 Weeks, 4 Weeks (default), or 8 Weeks.
- Recalculate All — re-runs MRP for every item in the selected location. This can take several minutes; you can keep working while it runs. When done, it reports how many items were processed and how many shortages were found.
- Refresh — re-reads the latest dashboard data without recalculating.
Your location and horizon choices are remembered between sessions.
Recalculate vs Refresh — Recalculate All re-computes the plan from scratch (slow, authoritative). Refresh just reloads already-computed results (instant). Recalculate after big demand or supply changes; refresh for a quick re-read.

Shortage Summary
Counts of shortages by severity — Critical (≤3 days), High (4–7 days), Medium (8–14 days), Low (>14 days) — plus Total Revenue at Risk, the combined value of sales orders threatened by these shortages. Click View All to open the full Shortages list.
Demand Sources
Value and count of upcoming demand by source for the horizon:
- Sales Orders (with value)
- Work Orders (component demand, with value)
- Forecasts (count)
- Transfer Out (count)
Click any source to jump to a pre-filtered Demand List (forecasts open the Forecasts page).
Critical Shortages (action needed within 3 days)
A table of the most urgent items. Columns:
- Item (with item options if any)
- On Hand — current stock
- Demand — total demand in the horizon
- Short — quantity short
- Impact — number of sales orders and work orders affected (e.g., "3 SOs, 1 WOs")
- Root Cause — Lead Time, Vendor Delay, Capacity, Quality, or Demand Spike
- Action — a context-aware button driven by the suggested action
Row actions:
- Create PO — opens a purchase order pre-filled with the item, short quantity, the item's preferred vendor, and location.
- Create WO — opens a work order pre-filled with the item, short quantity, and location.
- Expedite — accepts the shortage's expedite suggestion.
- View Planning (chart icon) — opens the item's Planning View.
- View Impact (arrow icon) — opens the Shortage Impact analysis.
Batch purchasing: tick the checkboxes on several rows and click Create N POs to send them to the Multi-PO Creator.
Pending Suggestions
System-generated recommendations, each with a priority badge (Critical / High / Medium / Low) and a type — for example Create Purchase Order, Create Work Order, Expedite Order, Replenish, Resolve Shortage, Review Quality, or Adjust Plan.
- Accept (✓) turns the suggestion into a real document.
- If a Create Purchase Order suggestion has no preferred vendor or no unit price, a small dialog asks for the vendor and/or unit price first. After the PO is created you can send it to the vendor by email right away.
- If a Create Work Order suggestion needs a location (location-tracked item), a dialog asks you to pick the location.
- Dismiss (✗) removes the suggestion.
Excess Inventory
Items projected to have surplus, showing the excess quantity and its estimated value — a prompt to slow down ordering or redeploy stock before you over-buy.
Tips
- Start each planning session by setting the location/horizon and clicking Recalculate All.
- Use Total Revenue at Risk to prioritize — a small shortage on a high-value order can outrank a large shortage on a cheap item.
- Accept suggestions when they match your intent; use the row's Create PO/WO buttons when you want to tweak details first.
