Carrier Integrations
ianaiERP offers direct integrations with major carriers, plus the option to connect some of those same carriers through EasyPost instead. This guide will walk you through the process of connecting your carrier accounts and managing them within ianaiERP.
Supported Carriers
ianaiERP provides direct integrations with:
-
USPS
-
UPS
-
FedEx
-
DHL Express
For DHL Express, FedEx, and USPS, you can alternatively connect through an EasyPost account instead of connecting the carrier directly (see below).
Connecting Your Carrier Accounts
Direct Carrier Connections
To connect a carrier account:
-
Go to Settings > Shipping > Carriers > Manage Carriers.
-
Click on the carrier you want to connect (USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL Express).
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your account details. USPS and UPS connect through a guided sign-in; FedEx and DHL Express ask for the API key/account details from your carrier account.
Note : Different carriers ask for different information. You might need to log into your carrier account to find specific details.
Connecting Through EasyPost
If you'd rather use an EasyPost account to pay for and manage DHL Express, FedEx, or USPS postage (for example, if EasyPost already holds your negotiated rates), you can connect that carrier through EasyPost instead of connecting it directly:
-
Go to Settings > Shipping > Carriers > Manage Carriers.
-
Select "EasyPost DHL Express", "EasyPost FedEx", or "EasyPost USPS".
-
Enter your EasyPost API Key and the Carrier Account ID for that carrier from your EasyPost account.
Note that this gives you an alternate way to connect the same three carriers — it does not add carriers beyond USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express. EasyPost is not currently offered as a connection option for UPS.
Connecting Multiple Carriers
ianaiERP supports one connection per carrier per company. If you reconnect a carrier you've already set up, you'll be editing that same connection rather than creating a second one. To stop using a carrier, open it from Manage Carriers and click "Disconnect" — this deactivates the connection rather than deleting your history with it.
Third-Party Billing
To bill the cost of a label to a third-party carrier account:
-
First, add your own account for that carrier to ianaiERP.
-
When creating a shipment, use the "Shipping Account" field in Other Shipping Options to select "Third Party" and enter the third-party account details.
Note : Third-party (and recipient) billing is available for UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express shipments. It isn't available for USPS or for carriers connected through EasyPost.
Best Practices
-
Keep your carrier account credentials up to date in ianaiERP.
-
Regularly review your connected services to ensure you're using the most cost-effective options.
-
If you frequently use third-party billing, keep those account numbers handy for quick entry.
-
Monitor your EasyPost balance if you're paying for postage through an EasyPost-connected carrier.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues connecting a carrier:
-
Double-check that you've entered all required information correctly.
-
Ensure your carrier account is in good standing and doesn't have any restrictions.
-
For direct integrations, try disconnecting and reconnecting the account.
-
For EasyPost connections, verify your EasyPost account is active and has sufficient funds.
If problems persist, contact ianaiERP support for assistance.
