Manufacturing Cockpit

The Manufacturing Cockpit is the at-a-glance command center that ties Supply-Demand Intelligence, scheduling, and shop-floor execution together. It shows what needs your attention right now, how the plant is performing, what's running, and where supply risk is building — all on one screen. A companion Action Items page is the full queue of everything awaiting a decision.

Where to Access

  • Manufacturing Cockpit — /mfi/cockpit (the default landing page of the Manufacturing module).
  • Action Items — /mfi/actions.

Cockpit cards

Action Required

The top card lists the most pressing items needing a decision, with a count and a View All link to the Action Items page. It blends three sources:

  • Suggestions — SDI/manufacturing recommendations (e.g., Create Purchase Order, Create Work Order) with Accept / Dismiss. Accepting a PO suggestion with no preferred vendor prompts you to pick one.
  • Pending Changes — engineering/BOM/routing changes awaiting approval, showing the affected work orders and cost impact, with Approve / Review.
  • Quality Reviews — work orders on quality hold, showing failed checkpoints, with Review Results / Release Hold.

Health Metrics

Key plant KPIs, each color-graded (green ≥ 85%, yellow ≥ 70%, red below):

  • OEE Today — overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Quality — first-pass yield.
  • On-Time Delivery — delivery performance.
  • Schedule Adherence — how closely execution tracks the plan.

Execution Status

Live work-order execution, each tile clickable to a filtered work-order list:

  • In Progress — work orders currently running.
  • On Hold — work orders paused (e.g., quality holds).
  • Behind Schedule — work orders running late.
  • Completion Rate — today's completion percentage.

Work Centers

A tile per work center showing its current state and job:

  • Status — Running (green), Setup (yellow), Down (red), Ready (blue), Idle (gray).
  • Current work order and progress % when running, or a status detail (e.g., "Maintenance", "Waiting") when not.

Supply/Demand Summary

A condensed view of SDI exposure — Critical Shortages, High Priority shortages, Pending Suggestions, and Revenue at Risk — with a link to the full SDI Dashboard.

Action Items

The Action Items page (/mfi/actions) is the complete, filterable queue behind the cockpit's "Action Required" card. It groups work into:

  • Suggestions — accept or dismiss recommendations (vendor prompt when needed for POs).
  • Pending Changes — review, approve, or reject changes, with their impact and cost.
  • Quality Reviews — review failed checkpoints and release or hold work orders.

You can focus on one group (Suggestions / Changes / Quality) or view All. Each row shows its priority, title/description, type, status, and the relevant actions.

How it fits together

  • SDI generates shortages and suggestions → they appear in the cockpit's Action Required and Supply/Demand Summary.
  • Scheduling drives Execution Status and Schedule Adherence.
  • Shop-floor / quality drive Work Center states, OEE, Quality, and Quality Reviews.

The cockpit is therefore the natural starting point each morning: triage Action Required, scan Health Metrics, check Execution Status and Work Centers, then drill into SDI or the schedule as needed.

Tips

  • Start the day on the cockpit and clear Action Required before diving into detail screens.
  • Use the clickable Execution Status tiles to jump straight to the work orders that are behind or on hold.
  • Treat falling Schedule Adherence or On-Time Delivery as a cue to revisit Production Scheduling.
