Daily Logs
The Daily Logs tab is the site record for a project — a dated journal of what happened each day. It's built for construction and field work, where a dependable daily record of crew, conditions and progress matters for billing, claims and disputes.
One log per day
A project keeps one log per day. Pick a Log Date that already has a log and the form tells you straight away and won't save — open that day's log and edit it instead.
Select Add Daily Log to open New Daily Log (you need permission to edit projects). The log date is the only field every log needs; everything else comes from the template.
What a daily log captures
- A Summary of the day's work and Internal Notes for staff
- Weather for the project's site
- Template Fields — the custom fields your template defines, such as personnel count, trades on site or equipment used
- A Checklist, when the template includes one
- Photos

Templates shape the form
The company's Default Daily Log Template is the starting point for every new log, and a selector at the top of the New Daily Log form lets you file a single log on a different template. The template decides which fields appear, which are required, and whether weather and a checklist are included.
Smart capture
Daily logs are designed to be filled out fast from the field:
- Weather is fetched, not typed — for a log dated today or yesterday, when you open a new log and from the refresh button. For other dates the form shows "Weather is fetched for today and yesterday only". Weather uses the project's site address, so set one on the project first.
- Voice input — record a voice note on the Summary or Internal Notes field and it's transcribed and added to whatever text is already there.
- AI summary — generate the Summary from the log's content. This works once the log has been saved; on a new log, save first.
- Photos can be added while you fill in a new log — they upload when you save. If the template has Require Photos on, the log won't save without at least one.
Daily log templates
The Default Daily Log Template picker in the company's project settings offers the ready-made system templates for common industries alongside your company's own, and you can create a new template right from that picker. A new template takes a Template Name, a Description and five feature toggles:
